The EGX 30 closed up 0.2897% at 54,659.6 on Aug. 5, with headlines led by earnings and strategic transactions. Abu Qir Fertilizers posted a 119% profit surge on revenue and export gains, according to Egypt Oil & Gas, while Cleopatra Hospital expects 31% year-on-year revenue growth in Q2 2026, according to TradingView. Telecom Egypt terminated plans to sell a stake in its data-centre business to Helios and is now focusing on a 100%-owned subsidiary, according to Kalkine Media, W.Media and Developing Telecoms. EFG Hermes plans a $150 million investment in Saudi private education, according to jawlah.co, while Elsewedy Electric signed industrial land deals with 7 Egyptian investors in Tanzania but said its wiring-harness factory plans remain under study, according to Zawya and Arab Finance.
