
BRVM rises 0.56% as financials climb 1.13%
The BRVM Composite rose 0.56% to 484.32 points on July 24, while the BRVM-30 added 0.67% to 230.73 and the Composite Total Return gained 0.55% to 192.27. Financials led with a 1.13% rise to 235.01 points, supported by momentum around Coris Bank, whose first-quarter 2026 net banking income jumped 29% according to Financial Afrik, after a week 27 rally that took the stock to CFA 29,000, Sika Finance reported. Telecommunications gained 0.61% to 112.85 points after GCR raised Sonatel's credit rating to the region's highest level, according to Dabafinance, following the deployment of 16 satellite antennas in Gandoul reported by MSN. Utilities fell 1.4% to 231.63 points, the steepest sector drop of the day, ahead of industrials at -0.86% and energy at -0.5%, while Bank of Africa BF, BN and SN announced capital increases on July 24, according to analyst reports.
