
TUNINDEX ends flat as insurers jump 2.14%
The TUNINDEX edged up 0.03% to 17,521.4 points, while the TUNINDEX20 fell 0.17% to 7,756.08 points, in a mixed market, according to BVMT data. Insurance stocks posted the strongest sector gain, rising 2.14% to 24,758.49 points, while building materials fell 0.78% to 807.05 points and basic materials lost 0.51% to 8,526.15 points. Ennakl Automobiles jumped 6% on May 19 even as the broader market stayed broadly flat, according to a Tunis Stock Exchange analyst note. In corporate news, Carthage Cement reported a lower 2025 profit of 40.1 million dinars, according to La Presse de Tunisie, while UNIMED posted 148.9 million dinars in revenue and 16.8 million dinars in profit with earnings under pressure, according to La Presse de Tunisie and Tustex. Block trades also supported activity, with 2 deals in Delice Holding worth 2.4 million dinars and 2 deals in SOTUVER worth 2.5 million dinars, Tustex reported.

On earnings, UNIMED reported 148.9 million dinars in revenue and a 16.8 million dinar profit in 2025, with earnings under pressure according to La Presse de Tunisie and Tustex, while Carthage Cement's profit fell to 40.1 million dinars in 2025, according to La Presse de Tunisie.
