BOA Senegal drew XOF 140.6 million in turnover on July 16, showing sustained interest despite a 1.3% decline. In a mixed BRVM session, BOA capital increases and fresh dividend notices put bank stocks back at the center of trading.
BRVM slips 0.27% as utilities tumble 4.1%
The BRVM Composite fell 0.27% to 479.92 points on July 16, while the BRVM Composite Total Return lost 0.24% to 190.53 points, as utilities slumped 4.1% to 216.0 points. The decline was partly offset by a 2.53% rise in industrials to 223.05 points, while energy gained 0.59% to 162.73 points and consumer discretionary added 0.71% to 194.15 points. In telecoms, the sector index edged up 0.03% to 112.06 points, with Sonatel among 5 notable gainers on July 15, according to Dabafinance, while Capmad reports the group is strengthening its Gandoul teleport to secure its position against Starlink and Kuiper. Financials slipped 0.47% to 232.96 points, as Sika Finance says Ecobank appointed Fayçal YOUNOUSSOU as managing director in Niger and Capmad, alongside Agence Ecofin, report a 15 million euro EBRD trade-finance line via Ecobank Senegal, described as a first for a Senegalese bank.
