BRVM rises 1.15%, lifted by Sonatel and financials
The BRVM Composite rose 1.15% to 529.94 points on Aug. 27, while the BRVM-30 gained 1.54% to 255.87 and the Composite Total Return added 1.21% to 213.13. Ecobank Transnational Incorporated cut its board to 12 members and removed directors' term limits, according to Financial Afrik, while Africa Intelligence reports Ecobank is fighting back after a first-instance ruling in Cameroon in its dispute with Wadivo. On earnings, SITAB posted stable first-half profit of CFA18 billion despite higher activity, according to Sika Finance, while analyst notes dated Aug. 25 flagged capital increases at Bank of Africa units in Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali.
