Financials added 0.87% to 247.43 points as Ecobank reported first-half 2026 revenue up 15% to $1.3 billion and pretax profit of $423 million, while net income of 167 billion CFA francs was held back by risk costs, according to leFaso.net, Sika Finance and Agence Ecofin. Utilities fell 2.85% to 280.54 points and energy lost 1.42% to 177.88, while SITAB posted stable first-half profit of 18 billion CFA francs despite higher activity, according to Sika Finance.

On earnings, SITAB posted stable first-half profit of CFA18 billion despite higher activity, according to Sika Finance, while analyst notes dated Aug. 25 flagged capital increases at Bank of Africa units in Senegal, Benin, Burkina Faso and Mali.
