
Top 40 jumps 2.68% as Absa highlights capital strength
The JSE Top 40 rose 2.68% to 108462.93 on Aug. 19, while the JSE All Share gained 2.41% to 116051.14. Absa Group said it expects its annual CET1 ratio at the top end of the board target range, according to TradingView, after FXLeaders reported an 8% increase in headline earnings. FXLeaders added that Absa's share price stagnated and that 2026 ROE guidance was cut to 15%. On the corporate front, Nedbank CIB helped structure financing for Harmony's international growth, Engineering News reported.
