
TUNINDEX rises 0.27% as SOTUVER is suspended ahead of 13.390-dinar bid

Gains were led by food and beverages, up 1.07% to 19,542.77 points, and consumer goods, up 0.94% to 14,748.76 points, while insurance fell 0.98% to 30,993.3 points and basic materials lost 0.87% to 8,942.08 points. SOTUVER remained in focus after a 143% rise in the local olive oil market in H1 2026 reshaped its results, according to Webmanagercenter. Separately, a mandatory tender offer at 13.390 dinars aimed at organizing joint control between B.A Glass and the Bayahi group is due to open on August 5, while trading in the stock is suspended, according to Webmanagercenter and Tustex.

TUNINDEX rises 0.47% as financials lead Tunis and SOTUVER bid dominates
The TUNINDEX rose 0.47% to 20,133.2 points and the TUNINDEX20 added 0.40% to 8,855.82 points, led by a 0.90% gain in financial services, according to the Tunis bourse. Banks climbed 0.62% and insurers added 0.54%, while building and construction materials rose 0.45%, extending the resilience in construction flagged on July 31. SOTUVER remained the main corporate story after first-half revenue rose 16% to 121.5 million dinars, driven by olive oil packaging demand, while the mandatory takeover bid launched by B.A GLASS B.V opens on Aug. 5 with trading suspended, according to Tustex and L’Economiste Maghrébin. Carthage Cement showed a more mixed picture, with revenue down 6% at end-June, domestic cumulative sales steady at 128 million dinars and a second-quarter recovery starting despite a sluggish local market, according to Tustex, African Manager and Leconomiste Maghrebin.
